On October 30, 2025, FKcaps announced the launch of URSA Keycaps on their official Discord channel.
URSA Keycaps is a keycap set that was available for group buy at Yushakobo from April 21, 2024.
The main feature is that they are “keycaps exclusively for capacitive non-contact switches.”
In other words, they are essentially third-party keycaps for “HHKB” and “Realforce.”

FKcaps “URSA Keycaps” Now on Sale | JIS (Japanese Layout) Support Planned for the Future
For capacitive non-contact switches, these and Domikey might be the only compatible keycaps available.
URSA keycaps are designed for Topre switches and feature the rare combination of double-shot PBT and a newly designed profile.
The convex bottom row design and 6° slope aim to optimize the feel for the short stroke of HHKB and Realforce.
While not currently supporting JIS, making them unsuitable for Japanese layout users, they seem to be a strong option for HHKB/Realforce users with English layouts.
KawamuraApparently, a Japanese layout is also in the works.
It’s “definitely on the roadmap,” so let’s wait for further updates.

The key profile seems to be slightly higher, with a “high profile” specification.
The most distinctive feature is probably the shape of the top surface.
While regular HHKB and Realforce have a Cherry profile-like cylindrical style (shaped like a cylinder cut into an arc), URSA has a “spherical design style” that curves inward towards the center.
The keycaps are made of PBT material, with double-shot legends, and are of course compatible with “Topre switches.”
This might be a model with HHKB Sumi replaced.

- Exclusive for Topre switches (not MX compatible): For Topre sliders like HHKB / Realforce / Leopold.
- Material: PBT, double-shot, 1.5mm thick. Emphasis on texture and durability.
- Profile: Deep spherical dish, flat top edge, slightly convex side walls, bottom row is convex for improved thumb operation precision and comfort. Row angle is about 6°.
- Layout support: Currently JIS/ISO not supported (planned for future support).

Note: For Realforce 87U‘s left 1.5u Ctrl (rotated stem), a dedicated key is included in the Extension kit. No modification needed.
