Think of an old keyboard.
It’s big, it’s thick, and it has a cream-colored body…it’s nostalgic somehow.
In earlier origins, we could go back to the old-fashioned feel of the typewriter.
KAM Outline” released by Keyreative is a set of keycaps that has a mysterious atmosphere like a place where such “old” and “new” things meet.
Let’s take a quick look.

KAM Outline Overview
KAM Outline is a set of keycaps for the KAM profile that Keyreative sells in stock.
Designed by Beesly.
KAM Outline is inspired by the traditional 1935 No. 10 Remington typewriter.
It is exactly what it looks like, with ivory, black, and red accents to recreate a classical atmosphere.
Personally, I feel that by making the keycap design “square” instead of “round,” we were able to fuse the traditional with the modern.
The profile used is the “KAM profile,” which features uniform height for all keys.
The key tops have a spherical design with an aspherical depression toward the center and a slightly higher height of approximately 9.00 mm from the bottom of the keycap to the top.
It is also suitable for those who type in a stroking manner, as they can slide their fingers in a near-flat manner when moving through each line.

Now let’s look at the actual photos.
It comes in a simple paper package like this.
This kit is a modern kit.
The space bar and modifier keys are black.
It contains multiple sizes of convex keys, which may be used on 40s keyboards.
Although this is sublimation printing, there is no blurring in the printing.
The red coloration is very good.
The black color is not “pitch black” but rather charcoal.
As for the alpha key, it is not white, but a soft cream color similar to ivory.
The homing key can be selected from two patterns: a protruding type or a type with a deep center indentation.
Keycap material is 100% PBT.
Although this is sublimation printing, there is no blurring in the printing.
It is depressed toward the center due to the KAM profile.
I had the impression that it had more R in the horizontal direction than in the vertical direction.
Now, let’s attach it to the keyboard.
The keyboard we used this time was a Corne v4 Cherry with a walnut case installed, which is being developed by Kinoya.
Let’s start with the right hand.
The alpha key part is ivory and the mod key part and enter key are charcoal.
The contrast of black and white is beautiful and matches the wood case very well.
It is a good match for a case that gives a classical impression.
On the left hand side, a keycap was chosen to resemble a red sealing wax (sealing stamp) as an accent.
It is strange that the right hand side mentioned earlier had a classical look, but when the red color is added, it instantly looks modern.

summary
This is my review of KAM Outline.
Although there may not be many matching keyboards due to its classical look, this keycap set can be a good partner for building a desk set that aims for retro-modernism.
Personally, I have found the following keyboards to be a good match.
Model M SSK
M0110
