Note the unusual pattern of JIS layout release to US layout release.

Of note to the editorial team is the order of the physical layouts released by Waffree.
A common pattern among foreign brands is to release English-language layouts followed by Japanese-language layouts.
Waffree, on the other hand, has released Japanese-language sequences before releasing English-language sequences.

In its press release, the brand says the goal of releasing an English layout is to “expand the options for users who regularly use US layouts, such as engineers and creators.”
Given that this is a release in the niche category of high-end split keyboards, from a web marketing perspective there’s also some overlap between people who’ve already been into overseas GBs and custom keyboards and those who prefer English layouts.
This Waffree US could be taken as a development based on such market sensitivities.
The Waffree US can be seen as one answer to the question of which audience to deliver a split keyboard at this price point, rather than just a different arrangement.
The fact that the brand, which started with Japanese layout x left-right split x fully wireless, has stepped forward to English layout is news that will be interesting to see in the future.
