On May 13, 2026, Yushakobo announced on its official X account that it has opened the group buy for Atelier Magnus “Slate Zero.”
Slate Zero features an HHKB-like 60% layout and a premium look and feel thanks to its CNC aluminum case, and it has been drawing attention in the overseas keyboard scene as well.
Now that the GB is open at Yushakobo, users in Japan can join the Slate Zero group buy through a domestic shop.
Greenkeys is currently interviewing Kelvin Tan, the designer of Slate Zero.
We plan to revisit not only the sales details, but also the design background and Atelier Magnus’s approach to making things—sharing what kind of ideas went into creating Slate Zero as a keyboard, which can be hard to see from sales info alone.
Domestic price is ¥42,900, available in five colors
The domestic price for the Slate Zero unit is ¥42,900 (tax included).
It comes in five colors: Royal Blue / Black / Grey / Brown / Champagne.
The GB order window runs from May 13, 2026 to May 31, 2026, with shipping expected to start from September 2026 onward.
The order period may end early or be postponed.
Specs
Slate Zero uses a case made with 6063-T6 aluminum and copper parts.
The case finish is anodized. The typing angle is 0° as standard, and supports 5° when using the separately sold Riser.
If you want a more typical typing feel, you’ll probably want to buy the Riser parts.
Mounting style: Silicone Gasket.
The PCB is 1.6 mm Black FR4 and supports VIA as well as Atelier Magnus’s own VIA-based configurator, “MAGWARE.”
Key switches, keycaps, and stabilizers are required separately
Slate Zero is not a prebuilt keyboard—it’s a “custom keyboard kit” that requires assembly.
Keep in mind you’ll need to source key switches, keycaps, and stabilizers separately.
What’s included: aluminum case, copper cover, PCB & daughterboard, selector switch, FFC cable, plate, Poron case foam, Poron plate foam, silicone mounting gaskets, silicone feet, M2 Torx screws, Atelier Magnus sticker pack, and more.
Plate options: FR4 / PC / Aluminum / Carbon Fiber.

Add-ons include a Riser to create a 5° typing angle, extra plates, PCBs, and more.
The Riser is ¥5,500 for each color. Plates (FR4 / PC / Alu) are ¥3,740, and the CF plate is ¥5,500.
PCBs are ¥7,260 for Solder and ¥8,140 for Hotswap.
