For some reason, many people in the keyboarding community are camera enthusiasts, so we’ll take a look at this for a moment.
On February 27, 2025, “Lexar,” a brand that releases SD cards and other products, released the world’s first stainless steel SD card “ARMOR” series.

The Lexar press release was issued in October of last year, but the Japanese launch was not until February 2025.
Two types have been released: “ARMOR GOLD SDXC™ UHS-II” and “ARMOR SILVER PRO SDXC™ UHS-II”.
Each boasts a read speed of 280 MB/s, with the main difference being a write speed of 160 MB/s for the Silver and 205 MB/s for the Gold.
Its greatest feature is the use of stainless steel as a material.
It is 18 times stronger than conventional SD cards and can withstand 180N of pressure.
The IP68-rated, waterproof and dustproof design provides full data protection even when immersed in up to 5 meters of water for 72 hours.
It also has excellent shock resistance and heat dissipation, with no problem even if dropped from a height of 5 meters, and no risk of malfunction due to thermal runaway after prolonged shooting.
It is UHS-2, the highest SD card standard available at this time, so it does not seem to fall short even when shooting video at up to 4K60P.
It also supports Video Speed Class 60 (V60), allowing 6K video to be captured seamlessly.
It is truly a “Boku ga Kangaeru Saikyo no SD Kado” spec.
