Designed for HHKB Studio
On October 25, 2023, PFU Corporation released the HHKB Studio, an all-in-one device with Cherry MX axis mechanical key switches.
The HHKB Studio Replacement Keycap Set* was developed as a replacement keycap for the HHKB Studio.
Keyreative” will be in charge of manufacturing and sales, while GreenKeys (operated by GreenEchoes Studio) will be responsible for sales promotion.
PFU Direct, operated by PFU Corporation, sells ” HHKB Studio Exclusive Keytop Set ” as an HHKB option, but the product to be sold this time is called “keycaps” to match the common name.
HHKB Studio Replacement Keycap Features
Created as an all-in-one device, the HHKB Studio has a “HHKB layout” and a dedicated pointing stick, which is why some keycaps are specially shaped.
The HHKB Studio Replacement Keycap was designed and manufactured to meet all of these unique requirements.

About Keycap Profiles
The KAT profile is an original profile licensed by Keyreative.
Analyzing the Cherry and SA profiles, it has several ergonomic features such as height, keycap shape, and thickness.
In particular, the “spherical design” of the key tops, which is not found in the general Cherry profile, is indented toward the center of the keys, providing a fingertip-absorbing typing feel.
In addition, the keycaps can be made up to 1.7 mm thick, which has the potential to achieve a deeper keystroke sound.
The material used in this project is 85% PBT + 15% GF double shot.

Corresponding to the special shape of “G/H/B
The “G・H・B” of HHKB Studio with pointing stick has a special shape and does not fit other than the dedicated keycaps.
Keyreative’s technology was used to take measurements from zero and create the mold from scratch.
Therefore, it matches 100% with the special shape of HHKB Studio.
Support for special size space bar
The HHKB Studio keycaps are a shorter “6u” size than typical to match the traditional HHKB.
However, since the stabilizer is positioned at the 6.25u size, a space bar that is generally available on the market will not fit.
The keycap set developed for HHKB Studio is available in a specially modified size of 6u and a stabilizer position of 6.25u, so it fits without problems.
Compatible with Split BS and 1.75u BS
One of the main features of the HHKB layout is the change in the position of the backspace key.
It is also fully compatible with the 1.75u size backspace key above the Enter key by splitting the normal 2u backspace portion into “1u+1u”.
