On September 23, 2025, I went to “TOKYO KEYBOARD EXPO 2025” held inside AKIBA SQUARE, 2nd floor of Akihabara UDX, Tokyo.
The third part of this series will introduce the booths of self-made keyboard artists.

Introduction of Exhibit Booths
Due to content, booth introductions are divided into multiple contents.
Vol. 3 will focus on the booths of Japanese self-made keyboard creators.

I could not take pictures of Salicylic Acid’s Keeb-On! booth and shakupan/sayu’s moNa booth this time because there were too many people…too bad.
I will try again next time!
1u cat key shop

1u cat key shop displays keyboards designed by @ymkn_gbf.
The three units on display were YM60JIS/Henge40/neige.
Among the most notable was the 30% keyboard NEIGE.
On display were those made of 3DP case (white/black) and those made of aluminum case.

I am still concerned about the key map when it comes to 30%.
Many of you may be wondering where the space key is located, especially since there is no bottom row.

The space key, to my surprise, coexisted with the left Ctrl in Mod-Tap.
My latest neige keymap is presented abruptly. Legend upper left means short press, lower right means long press, front left means Fn1 layer, front right means Fn2 layer, front center means 3rd layer to move with Fn1+Fn2. The main apps are ↓ pic.twitter.com/8IEnIXkTbA

This is symmetrical with the Enter key on the right side, which is in the same position, and I thought it was a very logical placement for Japanese input, which is based on the “Spece” → “Enter” sequence of typing.

Well, it was a helpful key map.

dotting dots…

The POPs at the “dotting dots…” booth make you feel that you are a professional in your field. booth.
The producer is Yosuke Morishita.
The main exhibit is the dotmatrix40, a 40% orthogonal layout.

The image color is black and yellow, but the “all-white” model on display caught our attention this time.

The board is multi-socket compatible, and choc sockets currently appear to be supported by purchasing a separate kit.

The construction is an orthodox FR4 sandwich structure, but to improve the keystroke feel, parts like O-rings for drones were interlocked to create a cushioning effect similar to a gasket mount.

As for the frame, it is a 3DP part, and you can customize it to your favorite coloring by printing it yourself using the published data.

It was an attractive keyboard with a great sense of design.

kumakey

The kumakey booth exhibited and sold mainly roBa.
After several updates, v3, which was released on April 24, now supports choc sockets and appears to be able to be low-processed.
One item that stood out was the “transparent roBa” that he personally uses.

Other exhibits included wooden roBa cases sold by Nobuki Inoue.

It was interesting to see Mr. Inouye in the middle of the day, as he was a regular at the booth. w

omni kbd

The “omni kbd” booth by MASS was impressive with its very authentic display and the most “pointed” keyboards of any booth.
The two main exhibits are the omni orth, an ortholinear dual trackball, and the omni cs, a column-staggered dual trackball.

From the perspective of the homebrew keyboard community, the omni cs is very distinctive in that it has a central display to control various settings, two trackballs, and an integrated column-staggered layout.
There is no doubt that such a keyboard looked extremely “different” at such an event where “ordinary keyboard fans” gather.

Oh, it’s a compliment.
The omni kbd keyboard, which seems to have sublimated from the genre of self-made keyboards and made its own product, was received with shock not only by the visitors but also by the Chinese brands gathered.

imDRESSion

The imDRESSion booth was always full of people with outstanding looks.
Of course, the place you are looking for is DRESSTIHNG.
Many were interested in the black version, which went on sale on September 23.

The beauty of DRESSTIHNG, after all, is the attention to detail in its design.

In terms of unity of design, it seems to be similar to dotting dots…. In terms of unity of design, I have the impression that it is similar to “dotting dots…”.

What personally caught my attention was the design concept.
We were groaning when we saw the following concept, which was released at a later date, because it had not been previously disclosed.

postscript
That’s all I have to report on TOKYO KEYBOARD EXPO according to the three parts plus extras for a total of four parts.
I started in the keyboard genre with HHKB, started thinking about things in the context of homebrew keyboards, and have been looking at brand-name keyboards on a different axis as a reviewer.
I strongly felt that the two keyboard axes, which had been running in parallel, “crossed” through this event.
When looking at self-made keyboards from the manufacturer’s side, I think that there are many aspects that can be very helpful in terms of mounting structure, hardware, and design when looking at the manufacturer’s side from the self-made keyboard side, as they also add spice to the framework of “keyboards” as products that are becoming saturated. I think that there are many aspects of the mounting structure, hardware, and design that can be used as a reference when looking at the manufacturer’s side from a self-made keyboard perspective.
Also, with the recent announcement of the arrival of “Nape Pro,” which intersects these two contexts, there is a strong impression that this crossover is finally getting interesting.

It seems that the keyboard area will become more and more exciting in the future.
