On May 30, 2026, Gizmodo Japan updated its official X account and posted a teaser that appears to be the “split keyboard” announced in the other day’s press release.
As of the May 31 update, three teaser images have been released.

Let’s adjust the brightness a bit.

At the very least, this photo shows what looks like a 40% left-right split keyboard with a column-staggered layout.
The center area on each half is likely the microcontroller section, and there’s one key under each of them.
Compared to Keyball-style boards, the trackball looks like it’s placed closer to the center.
Judging by the size compared to the keycaps, the trackball diameter looks to be 19 mm or 25 mm—pretty compact.

The photo posted on May 31 gives us a much clearer idea of what it is.
It looks like it has a horizontal rotary encoder on the inner side of the left half.

At this point, details like what materials it uses aren’t clear, but based on recent trends, it may end up looking something like this:
- Fully wireless connection between the halves
- low profile
- Aluminum case
- With tenting legs
Either way, I’m looking forward to the announcement.
They’ve announced that crowdfunding will start in mid-June, so it should be revealed before long.
Let’s wait and see.
