With the release of Jezail Funder’s new switch “Kiri,” silent linear switches for low-profile boards have become a much easier category to choose from.
Until now, the lineup was mainly Lofree x Kailh models and the Kailh Deep Sea series, but with the 37 gf “Kiri (MIST)” joining the mix, you can now choose while balancing lightness, quietness, and ease of use.
What’s especially interesting is that this comparison can’t be summed up as simply “actuation force.”
More than just weight, the typing feel and travel distance differ, so it’s fair to say you can now pick based on your preferences.
Silent linear switches are starting to trend as demand grows for office use of mechanical keyboards.
Let’s compare the specs.
At Greenkeys, we own every keyswitch featured in this content and share our impressions based on real use.

Let’s take a look at what makes each switch unique.
We considered comparing typing sound too, but since they’re “silent,” it’s pretty hard to capture meaningful differences in sound. So for this content, we compared them in text.
Kailh Silent Purple Swallowtail Mini

The lightest of the bunch.
With 0.8 mm pre-travel / 1.8 mm total travel, it’s very shallow—less a typical silent linear and more like a silent short-travel switch aimed at fast input.
Recommended if you want an ultra-short, laptop-like travel, or if you’re looking for silent switches for a leverless controller.
Kailh Deep Sea Mini Pink Island

A relatively light 35 gf actuation force.
A later addition released as a variation of the Deep Sea Mini Island lineup, and it feels like many people prefer this one.
The Deep Sea Mini Island feels slightly heavier.
If you want a press that’s one step lighter than MIST, this is a strong candidate.
On the other hand, it has a squishy, rubbery feel on bottom-out, so preferences will likely vary.
JezailFunder Kiri / MIST

At 37 gf, it hits a nice balance between lightness and stability.
It uses POM+PC.
The structure is almost the same as the Deep Sea Island Mini, but the raised section on the bottom housing reduces the rubbery feel on bottom-out.
Since the actuation force is also very close to the Deep Sea Island Mini Pink, it’s recommended if you’re looking for a switch with less rubbery bottom-out.
Lofree Void Low-profile POM

A keyswitch with a 40 gf actuation force.
Used in Lofree’s stock builds, and because it includes an LED diffuser, it pairs well with north-facing backlight PCBs.
The silencing mechanism is by Kailh, so it’s the same as the Deep Sea series, and this one also has relatively little rubbery feel on bottom-out.
Since it’s a standard weight, it’s a good pick if you want something classic.
Lofree Hades Low-profile POM

In the same 40 gf range as Void.
The previous generation in the current lineup.
It feels like the original Lofree silent switch, and like Void, it has relatively little rubbery feel on bottom-out.
If you don’t need an LED diffuser, this one should be more than satisfying.
Kailh Deep Sea Silent mini Island

At 43 gf, it’s the heaviest in this comparison.
It’s probably one of the older silent keyswitches, and it feels like many later options branched off from it.
For a low-profile keyswitch, the actuation force is on the heavier side, and the rubbery feel on bottom-out is also strong.
It’s a good fit if you value a calmer press and more assured input over a light, snappy feel.
Summary | Choose silent linear switches by feel and actuation force
That wraps up our comparison of silent keyswitches in the Kailh Choc v2 standard.
Unlike Cherry MX, the “quietness” of Kailh Choc v2 silent linear switches has reached a very high level, and it feels like loudness and scratchiness aren’t really meaningful comparison points.
Instead, it’s better to choose based on the clear criteria of “how heavy it feels when pressed” and “bottom-out feel.”
