NuPhy Halo75 with Japanese layout model|Prototype model exhibited at CONPUTEX

On June 7, 2024, Sanyo Godo Kaisha, NuPhy’s distributor in Japan, posted a report on its coverage at COMPUTEX on its official X

The Halo75 JIS layout model caught the eye of many of them.

As for the part without keycap, it is inferred that no substitute parts are available at the prototype stage, probably because of the JIS-specific length of the keycap.

Compared to the recently posted Gem80, can you see that the area around the arrow key in the lower right portion is very tight?

After all, when 75% US layout is converted to JIS layout, it may be inevitable that the size of the right shift key is 1u.

I still have the impression that the only way to achieve a 75% layout that fits well is to use a unique layout or inverted T-arrow keys side by side.

In addition to the Field75HE, the first of the HE series with magnetic keyswitches, there was also an unreleased Halo65HE model on display.

Recently, MelGeek has introduced a keyboard with 65%-sized magnetic keyswitches, giving the impression that the magnetic area is becoming quite popular.
