Switching from a flat keyboard, such as on a laptop, to a mechanical keyboard, for example, may seem “expensive”.
A “wrist rest” or “palm rest” is useful in such cases.
The so-called “raise the height of the palm of your hand so that you can strike down from above with ease” is the raison d’être of the wrist rest.
KawamuraThe purpose is to “raise the palm of the hand a little higher,” so honestly, it’s not a matter of what it is…it’s a deep point.
This wrist rest is actually quite profound.
Inexpensive wooden products have become the mainstream, but wood has many disadvantages: it is light and moves, it slides, it sticks and floats with sweat, and it gets dirty.
To solve such weaknesses, a variety of wrist rests made of glass, acrylic, metal, and other materials have been introduced.
Cerakey has released a wrist rest made of ceramics.
This article reviews a ceramic wrist rest released by Cerakey.

[Photos] Cerakey x Ellipsis Ceramic Wrist Restraint Review
Let’s take a look at some actual photos of ceramic wrist rests.
It arrived in a just-right-sized box like this.
It is covered with a cushioning material so firm that even if it were to be thrown during delivery, it would not be a problem.

The “White Crazed” model was offered this time.
The coloring is not “white” but rather “cream,” and the surface dares to have the cracks characteristic of ceramics.
The height of the front side is 12 mm and the height of the keyboard side is 20 mm, and the width is adapted to the typical 65%/75% size.

The weight was 545 grams, which is heavy for a “ceramic” product.
KawamuraIt seems unlikely that it will stick to the palm of the hand and float or shift when typing.

Let’s come a little closer and take a look.
It has very intricate “holes” along with a beautiful crack pattern.
Its look, as if it were created by stretching a viscous object, was “foreign” in a good sense.

This cavity is not only a vertical hole, but also a horizontal one.
KawamuraI can’t help but wonder how such a pattern could be created and baked.

Let’s see how it fits on a real keyboard.
We start with the Nada65 with the White Ceazed keycap.
KawamuraNote that although they have the same name White Crazed, they are different in color.
The keycap White Crazed is “white”, but the wrist rest is “cream”.
If you seem to have trouble with white color matching, consider black or indigo colors.

Next, we paired it with the Vortex M0110 in the royal retro color scheme.
In this way, it is easy to see that the coloring matches the cream-colored Alpha key.
KawamuraI thought the image would match the case color (retro gray), but then I realized again that it is more cream than gray.

From another angle.
After all, if you want to match the color with the keyboard, a “cream” color is a better match than “white”.

And as I was typing, I thought that my palm fits nicely in this cavity.
KawamuraIt is also nice and cool and comfortable.

There are a variety of wrist rests made of different materials, but I think ceramic wrist rests are a good idea.
It feels nice and cool, the weight allows for solid typing, and it has a unique look… As for the price, it is a little more expensive than wooden wrist rests, but we felt it was well worth it.
