On April 23, 2026, Lofree Hyzen launched on Kickstarter.
The product was previewed at the “Lofree Shinagawa-Popup” held on 3/28, and details were explained at an influencer briefing held the same day.
For the product launch, Lofree clearly stated the differences between the prototype version released that day and the final product version, so we’re sharing them here.
Design-related changes
To “achieve a cleaner, more cohesive design,” it looks like they will remove the following:
The HYZEN logo on the spacebar

The HYZEN logo on the left side of the back

The “Lofree” logo on the 2.4GHz receiver

The “maker 2m²” logo on the wrist rest

Improved case zipper design

On the prototype case zipper, pulling in the opening direction could cause the metal fitting to come off.
Additions
It looks like they will newly add the following:
- Add Mac legends to the keycaps
- Add labels on the sides of the arrow keys for light-effect controls, so you can operate them intuitively without memorizing key combos
- Fix the issue in the web app where Mechanical Switch + Magnetic Switch modes get mixed

Shared control methods
- FN + ←: Change front backlight color
- FN + ↑: Change front backlight effect
- FN + ↓: Change front light effect
- FN + →: Change front light color
Web app update
With Hyzen, you can use the web app to change keymaps, configure magnetic switch settings, and more.
It looks like the following points will be updated from the prototype version:
Add shortcuts for switching modes
- FN + Shift + Enter: Switch to the previous mode
- FN + Shift + Q / W / E / R / T / Y / U: Switch to Preset 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7
Add Japanese language support
(There aren’t details, but in the context of the 3/28 briefing, there was a request to add keycodes for IME-related keys unique to Japanese layouts, such as “Henkan”/”Muhenkan” and “Eisu”/”Kana”.)
Lofree Hyzen has been crowdfunding on Kickstarter since April 23.
