On October 2, 2024, at 13:30, PFU Corporation announced in a press release the launch of the new HHKB Studio model, Snow.
In the past few years, this site had predicted that the new products would be announced on October 2 and go on sale on October 25 each year, but it turned out to be wrong.
The new “Snow” model is one of the color variations of the previous black model, and features not only the body and keycaps, but also the rubber cover of the pointing stick, all in a “white color”.
- Body color is pure white snow with white silver accents
- Key tops are “cool gray” dye sublimation printing on a pure white base color
In terms of functionality, as with previous models, this model is equipped with Cherry MX compatible mechanical key switches, a pointing stick, and touch sensors on the sides and front side, making it an “all-in-one device”.
Software improvements have also been added, including an “import/export” function for the existing keymap modification software and compatibility of profile setting data on Windows and macOS.
The retail price is 44,000 yen (including tax) for both English and Japanese layouts. In addition to PFU Direct (official online store), the product is also available at Amazon, Rakuten Ichiba, Yahoo Shopping, etc.
In conjunction with this release, we have also lined up a replacement set of “unprinted keytop set” and “keytop set with black printing on white base”.
In addition to this, a set of standard key tops in cool gray will also be sold together, allowing for the purchase of replacement keycaps in three types and six patterns.
