Keyboard Market Tokyo 2025 – Exhibition Booth Report

Let me now introduce what we actually talked about as we visited each booth.

D-01 GIMMICKEEBSTUDIO

DSC0609

The GIMMICK KEEB Studio operated by Mogma Products stood out with its colorful desk mats and catchy booth logo.

As the booth name “gimmick” suggests, the “Dottie Flip Flow” had a very interesting structure.

DSC0605

At first glance, it is a separate orthogonal layout keyboard with six single-handed rows and 19mm pitch, but it is hinged in the center.

DSC0781
Central part disassembled

What a surprise, it can be “folded” by aligning the key surfaces from the center.

Kawamura top RKawamura

Moreover, the operation is super smooth and nostalgic, reminiscent of the Galaga Kei of those days.

DSC0782

There is only one microcontroller installed, and communication between the left and right side appears to be done via a cable connection.

The big question was, “If it opens and closes so smoothly, what about the cables?” I was wondering how the cables were connected.

Kawamura top RKawamura

When you think of a folding structure, you still imagine a line being “pinched”, don’t you?
That is not the case at all.

When we asked about the mechanism, we were told that the hinge part has a cylindrical cavity and is connected to the left and right sides by passing it through the hole at the bottom of the image.

In other words, the cable itself does not twist when opened or closed,” says designer jigyakkuma.

The accent color made of filaments of different colors near the hinges also looks very good, giving the impression of a very complete product.

D-03 Kepe-O-Rashi

DSC0596

Kepeo, a leading trackball case designer, and Arashi, who has made a name for himself with the release of his machined aluminum case “Corchim,” had a joint booth where cases specifically for the Keyball44 and Cocot36plus were available.

The perfection of the Keyball44 case, Snowball44, is particularly impressive.

DSC0601

The pure white chassis, reminiscent of snow, was beautifully curved to resemble a snowman, and the weight in the center was a wonderful accent.

DSC0599
Polycarbonate machined cases are also available.

E-1 Fuji Parmesan Craft Works

DSC0746

Fuji Parmesan Craft Works is a joint exhibit by artisan keycap creator Fujikko and Alco, which produces keyboards and wooden palm rests.

Mr. Fujikko has a strong image of marbled keycaps and rotary encoder knobs, but this time he has prepared a new product.

keyket 86
Marble-colored case from last year’s store opening. See last year’s contents.

The newest one was so popular with everyone that it’s already sold out,” says Fujikko.

The three most popular were stained glass, Savon, and cloisonne patterns.

DSC0747
DSC0748

The Savon was particularly impressive with its beautiful dome shape that gently bulged out like a soap bubble, and its beautiful gradation that looked like a real soap bubble.

In addition to keyboard production services, Alco sells karaki palm rests.

Palm rests made of “lignum vitae,” the hardest thinking wood in the world, were already sold.

The chavdai40 designed by t-miyajima, who was there to help, was also for sale.

The hurdles for self-made keyboards are soldering and assembly.
It would be very nice for beginners to be able to do this on their behalf.

E-03 livehack

DSC0569

The docking-style palm rest for Magic Trackpad was sold by 3DP creator livehack over the weekend.

Magic Trackpad is a very powerful and easy-to-use device, but due to its size, it inevitably comes into contact with the hand when placed on the front side of the keyboard, the same side as a notebook computer.

The “docking rest” and “docking tile” are the solution to this problem.

DSC0574

The docking tile is a palm rest designed to be about the same height as a low-profile keyboard, such as the Lofree Flow lite or NuPhy Air75, and can accommodate a Magic Trackpad in the center.

By covering the left and right sides of the trackpad, which is large in area, it is an excellent product that prevents accidental operation when typing in the home position.

DSC0571

On the other hand, the docking rest was a product with an embedded trackpad and a step to prevent palm contact.

Not only was the quality of the modeling high, but the color lineup was breathtaking!

DSC0570

E-04 Senmin

DSC0564

Senmin is the one who carves and processes wood – and he does it in a very small keycap size.

First, look at the beauty of this formative beauty.

DSC0561

This particular R on the space bar is already a work of art.

The convexity is beautifully expressed.

The exhibited work is close to the original profile of HHKB, and the cylindrical shape is beautifully represented as shown.

DSC0562

In addition to the Topre axis, MX axis keycaps were also available.

Kawamura top RKawamura

This wood resin keycap was beautiful too!

DSC0565

E-05 Marine Products

nori. andShachi’s Fish Tank will be co-presenting at the marine products booth.

DSC0631
Key cap of Mr. Shachi’s aquarium. Very cute.

This time, the interview was conducted mainly with Mr. nori.

He exhibited two types of keycaps: stainless steel keycaps and resin keycaps.

The stainless steel keycaps are made by ordering them from a vendor based on the data he modeled.

This time, not only the SA profile, but also the Cherry profile has joined the group.

DSC0620

He is not finished when he places an order, but when he receives the order.

DSC0626

The center of the photo is unpolished, and from this point, polishing by hand will gradually add luster to the surface.

DSC0623

The interesting feature of stainless steel keycaps is that they show various expressions depending on how they are polished, and keycaps with various textures were sold at the booth.

DSC0621

Also enclosed in the resin keycap is a dinosaur bone that was “printed using data modeled from a real fossil.

If you look closely at its specimen model, called Allosaurus, you can see that it has solid “teeth”.

Kawamura top RKawamura

How elaborately made!

It was a very romantic booth.

E-10 A’skey (photo only)

Alec Toru manages a booth with a number of keyboards featuring Japanese layouts.

Unfortunately, I could not visit and could only take pictures from afar.

Kawamura top RKawamura

After all, many Japanese people use JIS sequences, so this style is familiar to them.
The line never stopped and it became very popular.

E-11 Narrow Pitch Keyboard Association (takashicompany)

The Narrow Pitch Keyboard Association booth run by takashicompany features a variety of colorful keyboards.

One of the most eye-catching pieces was the new “Palmslave”.

It is an updated version of miniDivide, maintaining the one-handed 5-row QAZ column staggered layout style with full wireless connectivity, but the exterior has been changed from acrylic laminate to 3DP, and the adopted keyswitch has been changed from choc v1 solder to choc v1/v2 hot-swap support. The key switch has been changed from choc v1 solder to choc v1/v2 hot swappable.

Along with this, the “Zero8 Slim-Fit” keycap, the “original narrow pitch keycap”, has also been updated to support the MX axis.

Basic black-colored case sets were the most popular, and the stock of colorful cases seemed to be dwindling quickly.

DSC0474
DSC0519
Kawamura top RKawamura

I also reviewed it and it is a very good keyboard.

F-03 dotting dot (photo only)

DOTTING DOT is run by Yosuke Morishita.

Unfortunately, only pictures are available.

It’s pop and catchy! I wanted to see this.

F-04 sassa95

DSC0582

Camera enthusiasts will love it.

sassa95 ‘s work is an artisan keycap with an SLR camera motif.

Normally available in black, this time they were available in limited colors: gray and purple.

We finally arrived at this point,” he says, after repeated prototyping.

It appears that the resin is poured into the created mold, and then various parts are combined to create the product.

Kawamura top RKawamura

I was amazed at the sophistication of this lens!

DSC0578
DSC0585
Nikon’s mirrorless SLR “z” also gave off a nice vibe. My camera for interviews is also a Nikon.

F-08 Sanshoku Dango University

The Sanshoku Dango University booth is crammed with “Sanshoku Dango goods.

その中でも非常に目を引いたのが「Press40」です。

It was already sold out at the time of my visit.

Kawamura top RKawamura

I can’t get enough of this catchy look.

DSC0724

This keyboard case showed glimpses of attention to detail throughout, such as the tilt legs in the form of a tricolor dumpling.

S-1 NuPhy Japan

The NuPhy Japan booth, operated by Sanyo LLC, featured an array of NuPhy keyboards and key switches, as well as Keyreative keycaps, which the company has begun handling.

DSC0464
Kawamura top RKawamura

I still like this catchy design sense of NuPhy.
The accent key caps do a very nice job.

DSC0466
Diverse Keyreative keycap. It is overwhelming.

The older Air and Halo series, which were sold exclusively at Kiket, quickly sold out.

DSC0696

Unlike other corporate booths, consignment sales of products from the homebrew keyboard community will also be offered.

The products of Gravity36, released by Greenkeys, and JizaiStyle, which mainly sells TRRS cables, were on sale.

DSC0463
Kawamura top RKawamura

Since we usually only sell both products online, we were very happy to have the opportunity to sell them in person.

DSC0465

This is a very rare initiative for an exhibitor.

This is a nice compromise for the homebrew keyboard community.

S-03 ZENAIM (photo only)

At the ZENAIM booth, the ZENAIM KEYBOARD 60 JIS/US developed products attracted much attention.

It was more compact than the previous TKL style, and with a lineup of JIS layouts as well as US layouts, it seemed to be a very cool keyboard for everyday use outside of the gaming scene.

Kawamura top RKawamura

The aluminum alloy frame was a really beautiful keyboard.

S-4 Lofree Japan

The Lofree Japan booth, operated by Sanyo LLC, sold not only Lofree products but also LeleLab keyboards and keycaps.

Among the booths that always drew a crowd was the booth selling Kailh x Lofree’s new key switches in bulk.

DSC0529

The key switches are very popular among the home-built keyboard community because they provide just the right amount of pressing pressure, a pleasant sound, and a very smooth key feel.

Specter/Hadesともに瞬く間に販売在庫が減っていった様子でした。

S-09 FCL Components, Inc.

DSC0686

FCL Components, Inc. was formerly known as Fujitsu Components, Inc. and changed its name on February 1, 2024.

In line with this, we are currently developing the “Libertouch,” a classic membrane keyboard of yesteryear.

We covered this event at Tenkey Vol. 7 in November 2024, and sample products were again on display as a reference exhibit.

展示されていたキーボードは65%レイアウトのJIS /US。

The key unit is hot-swappable with a Cherry MX compatible footprint.

The keycaps were made of high-quality PBT material, and the body was a machined aluminum housing, an amazing evolution from the previous sample.

DSC0692
DSC0684
The sample product has a laser engraved PBT keycap. The printing is a soft gray and does not interfere too much with the eye when typing.
Kawamura top RKawamura

Libertouch is discussed in a separate article.

S-10 Kequet Office

キーケット事務局ブースでは、キーケットスタッフの作品が並べられていました。

Kawamura top RKawamura

Unfortunately, we were not able to talk to the staff members who were working on the show, as they were selling their own works…all of the works were unique and wonderful.

DSC0590

S-12 Keeb-On!/moimate (photo only)

One of the most impressive booths that was always overflowing with people was the S-12 Keeb-On!/moimate booth.

Salicylic Acid,” a leading expert in the world of homemade keyboards who exhibited last year at the “Numata no Kai,” will be exhibiting this year in collaboration with moimate, Inc. led by Yukari.

The most notable product is probably the Focus40/Focus60, which was developed jointly with moimate.

It is truly astounding that a machined aluminum case can be used and sold at this price.

As a follow-up, the particular points from Yukari’s point of view were also very interesting to read.

S-13 Yousha Kobo (photo only)

Everyone’s favorite, Yousha Kobo, will have a large booth as a co-sponsor of Keeket.

The number of exhibits was always crowded with people, just like in a real store.

In particular, the finished products corner and key switch trial corner were always crowded, and it was very impressive that the exhibits seemed to emphasize “hands-on” experience with self-made keyboards more than sales.

Kawamura top RKawamura

Although it may come later, many of you may have been surprised to hear from the official X of Yousha Kobo that it is becoming a subsidiary company.

By becoming a member of the Kaho Wireless Holdings group, we will take on the challenge of expanding our business and providing new value under an even stronger management base than before.

After joining the Kaho Wireless Holdings group, Yusha Koubou will continue to provide products and services that satisfy customers through its brand, management structure, Akihabara store, and e-commerce site as before.

I would like to pay more attention to the activities of Yousha Kobo than ever before!

summary

This is our report on the individual booths about Keyboard Market Tokyo 2025.

This alone is quite a lot of information, but in fact not even half of the exhibitors’ booths have been introduced.

Furthermore, Keyboard Market Tokyo 2026 has already been announced, and we expect the number of booths to further expand.

https://keyket.jp/tokyo-2026

Kawamura top RKawamura

The venue is the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Hamamatsucho.
Although details have not yet been announced, it is assumed that the change of venue has been made in order to expand the scale of the event.

The enthusiasm of this keyboard area probably cannot be fully conveyed unless you go!

I hope to see you at the venue with me next year.
