On October 29, 2026, Lofree posted photos of the black low-profile mechanical keyboard Flow Lite 2 on its official X account.

It is scheduled to go on sale November 1.

The subdued color scheme is predominantly black, from the case to the keycaps.

For those who have seen the Flow Lite in its brighter colorways, this looks like a distinctly different option.

The long-awaited black Flow Lite

The Flow Lite was available in three colors: white, pink, and Vintage Gray.

Among keyboard fans, black is just as much of a staple as white—that much is surely common knowledge.

The arrival of a black Flow Lite 2 feels like something fans had long been hoping for.

I’d been imagining one more than a year ago, too.

An all-black keyboard that fits right in on your desk

In the published photos, the black keyboard is shown alongside a clock, mouse, and other items. A display is also visible in the upper right, neatly fitting into the black case.

If you’re looking to create a simple, black desk setup, this colorway may catch your eye. I also think it looks like a color scheme that could prove popular.

Smooth Pass provides a code after purchase that takes US$40 off the keyboard price.

The pass costs extra on top of the keyboard price listed above, and you should also check shipping and other charges.

The pass is listed as non-refundable.

The reservation page also lists a Japanese layout as an option, but the photos released this time show an English layout.

It may be safer to wait until SANYO., LLC., the domestic distributor in Japan, announces the Japanese layout before buying.

With black now added, Flow Lite 2 offers more ways to choose a look you like.

For now, reservations are available only through the official website. However, given how popular the Flow Lite and Flow Lite JIS have been in Japan, our editorial team thinks there is a good chance that the authorized Japanese distributor will open reservations as well.

Either way, we’re looking forward to it.
