On March 23, 2024, Yusha Kobo, a keyboard specialty store, released a sales page for the new “X-Ray” keycap from PBTfans, a keycap brand made by KBDfans.
X-Ray is a “translucent” keycap that has recently become fashionable.
It has a double-shot structure, in which a transparent layer seems to be overlaid on a white base, and the main feature is that the letters appear to float on top of the transparent layer when viewed from different angles.
Backlight transparency is not specified, but depending on the thickness of the underlying ABS material, it may glow faintly.
Five types of kits will be sold: Base kit, 40s kit, spacebar kit, international kit, and Artisan, each with the following specifications.

- Profile: Cherry Profile
- Supported switches: Cherry MX and compatible switches
- Imprint: Double shot
- Manufactured by: KBDfans
Only Artisan keycaps are manufactured by different manufacturers.

The sales are scheduled for the second quarter of 2024 (July to September).
