Report on Tenkaichi Keyboard Waiwai Kai Vol. 9 ➖ Individual Booths

In the individual booth section, I will focus on keyboards that I was interested in and works that I was able to hear directly from the creators.

One-off profile Cornelius created by the grandfather of column staggered layouts

foostan is no stranger to the homebrew keyboard community as the author of Corne, a left-right split-column staggered layout keyboard that he released in 2019.

Many keyboards have been created featuring this keyboard, not only in Japan but also in the world.

He displayed a mirror-finished model of the Cornelius v2 (low-profile version), which he announced in August 2024.

P1093146

It is truly a supreme one-off product, with the aluminum case without surface treatment polished by hand.

Kawamura top RKawamura

This was drool-worthy.

Also active as a titanium artisan keycap artist|Murasaki Hasuno

P1093161

Around Mr. Hasuno Murasaki, who invented the Lotus Array, were many keyboards featuring the Lotus Array.

Of course, the new original keyboard with a trackball in the center of the keyboard was also on display, but what caught the eye most was a group of beautiful artisan keycaps.

Its keycap, named “Ekam,” is formed in titanium and polished by hand, one by one, to form a single shape.

P1093159

The keycap, shaped like a lotus petal, changes its appearance depending on the pattern on the top surface and the way it is polished.

In addition, the format in which a jewel is inlaid into the top surface, named Dve Ratna, transcended the boundaries of an artisan keycap and had the presence of a ring.

We look forward to his future activities.

It looks like a piece of fine furniture|Mokulate’s attention to detail in its wood cases is wonderful!

P1093129

The wood case guru in the home-built keyboard world is Nobuki Inoue.

Mokulate is a keyboard that he created from scratch to make a wooden case for a wooden keyboard.

When existing keyboards are enclosed in wood, it is difficult to machine horizontal holes and chamfering by CNC alone, which requires a lot of manual work and tends to reduce work efficiency, and this keyboard was designed to solve this fundamental problem.

By creating the bottom case with 3DP case and the top case with wood, they were able to efficiently create a flat top surface that requires no horizontal holes and is easy to surface.

P1093130

The appearance of the dark wood-colored body, which appears to be walnut, combined with the matte LAK keycaps, makes one feel as if one is admiring a piece of high-end furniture or high-end audio equipment.

P1093131

The default tenting angle of 4 degrees is also quite easy to use.

P1093132

The battery is stored on the back of the device, and the entire microcontroller is covered by the device.

P1093134

I look forward to seeing this come out in the world.

Pioneering a new genre of double trackball mouse|mass

The new product from mass, which designs and develops “dual trackball keyboards” such as the Omuni CS and Omuni Ortho, is a “dual ball trackball mouse.

Kawamura top RKawamura

使いこなせればかなりの業務効率化が図れますね!

トラックボール自体の支持機構も完全オリジナルとなっており、スラストベアリングを3基搭載し、軽い送球感を作り出しているとのことです。

Kawamura top RKawamura

Jezail Funder’s New Exhibit Boosted by Cornix Hit|Jezail Funder Japan’s Mr. Zhu

Zhu’s booth displayed two new products that Jezail Funder appears to be preparing to sell.

First is “Jiffy75,” a left-right split 75% ANSI layout.

The wooden case and palm rest are integrated into one piece, and the look is addictive.

P1093111

Also on display next to it was the compact looking “Bashful.

P1093112

It appears to be a low-profile HHKB-style keyboard, but it was not split backspace, and while based on ANSI, it had “conversion” and “no conversion” in the Bottom Row layout, making it a keyboard full of originality.

This is something to look forward to.

Engineer’s meteorite40

The genre of keystroke feel is really deep and I have no idea what the correct answer is.

Among those that made me think that “Thocky” might be the right answer was Hajire Engineer’ s METEORITE40.

The World of Ultra-Thin Akebono Components|NUMB41 (NAMUSHIY)

Namushii-san exhibited his own arcade controller called LuminoSound.

It is a controller keyboard exclusively for sound games, which was planned with “Mr. Takamura”, the director of Touhou Danmaku Kagura.

Kawamura top RKawamura

This is probably the first time in Greenkeys’ history that we have featured an acetate.

According to Namushii, the needs for akebono have been changing in recent years, and while “large and heavy” akebonos used to be preferred for stability, recently the needs have shifted to “thin and light” for easy portability.

P1093104
Very thin. 7mm thick.

The purpose of the existence of the akebono is “speed,” and by using key switches with short strokes and shallow actuation points, the physical input speed is increased to the utmost limit.

P1093105

It was a glimpse into a different and deeper world than that of mechanical keyboards.

TGR and Lamy – The World of Custom Keyboards|Hotarujaya-san

P1093075

Two Monokei x TGR 910 v2 ME Suave Blue /Lamy TKL were displayed by Hotaruchaya.

Kawamura top RKawamura

Both cars were cool as hell…!

This double name of Monokei and TGR is set with GMK Norse, and its distinctive sublegend is irresistible.

The hollowed-out “910” logo is also a high point of appreciation.

(The PCB is not a hot swap but a solder.)

P1093077

Lamy TKL is a TKL-sized keyboard sold by KIBOU.

(Taken from Mekib as no product information was available)

The almost light blue half-matte body, which is probably machined from polycarbonate, is a work of art.

This is the one that satisfies the desire for ownership.

P1093076

Both machines are very particular about the use of deep dish for homing keys.

Kawamura top RKawamura

I too am a deep dish person.

English Summary
