Another dream of producing original keycaps is about to become a reality.
On March 13, 2026, YUZU Keycaps (operated by FKCaps), a provider of custom keycap creation services, announced on its discord channel that it will offer two new low-profile keycap creation services.
The service will be available on March 23, but it is unclear which country time zone it will belong to, so it is best to assume that it will be launched during March 23-24, Japan time.
The following two types of profiles will be handled.
- PFF Profile
- PBS Profile
The designer of the two profiles is Matt3o, a keycap designer, and Keyreative is the manufacturer.
As for YUZU’s keycap sets, it is a well-known fact that Keyreative manufactures them, and we believe that the partnership between FKcaps and them has made this low-profile keycap sale possible.
As for the PFF profile, it is already explicitly stated that there is a 4.5u size space bar mold.
Based on the above, we interviewed Mr. Simon of FKcaps, the company that operates YUZU Keycaps, about their response to the Japanese layout, and received the following response.

In other words, As for the PFF profile, it was suggested that a space bar size for Japanese layouts be provided.
Looking at the recent Japanese keyboard scene, low-profile mechanical keyboards are in vogue and have become popular with regard to split keyboards such as Cornix and Jiffy75.
In addition, low-profile mechanical keyboards with Japanese layouts are also coming into vogue and may offer new options for keycap customization.
The day may not be far off when these will have “keycaps that look and feel consistent with my own keymap that I designed”.
