It finally arrived.
Do you remember the crowdfunding for the new ceramic key caps on INDIEGOGO, which was held from November 14, 2023?
The crowdfunding deadline was December 15, 2023, and the product was scheduled to ship in May 2024, but it arrived in 2025, about eight months late.
In Japanese, it is called “Chinese lacquer color” and in English, it seems to be expressed as “Lacquered”.
In fact, at the same time as this crowdfunding, Cerakey ran a giveaway campaign on X. My personal entry was selected and arrived yesterday.
We are affiliated with Cerakey, but it really hit me by accident!
It was so beautiful that I will review it in a bit.

What is Cerakey Lacquered Ceramic Keycap Set?
The Cerakey Lacquered Ceramic Keycap Set is a traditional Chinese lacquer process on a ceramic keycap.
Each pattern is different as each is done by hand.
Looking at the manufacturing process, you really make each one by hand.
The crowdfunding price was pretty good, but looking at this work, it is rather inexpensive. As you can see from the price of HHKB’s lacquered key caps, this keycap is worth that much.
The following seven types of crowdfunding were identified
This is wonderfully artistic.
Ivory and Obsidian in the upper row are special colors, while the regular lineup is the lower row including AZURE.
This time I received a D-set of JADE.
[Photos] Cerakey Lacquered Ceramic Keycap Set Review
Let’s take a look at it in pictures.
It came in a box like this.
The appearance is so beautiful that the box alone is enough to raise your spirits.
I can’t get enough of this swell!
I would like a desk mat with this pattern.
Ceramic keycap visible through small window.
I was a little disappointed that the tray was scratched, but the contents were fine.
The four that were included were R1ESC, R2 Enter, and R4 – four.
Because they are made by hand, you will see that each one has a different pattern.
It is a little hard to tell from the photo, but this gold-colored part glitters depending on the way the light hits it.
Like this.
This is really beautiful.
The stem is, of course, of V2 specification (plastic stem), which allows for smooth insertion and removal to and from the key switch.
Let’s actually attach it to the keyboard as an Artisan Keycap.
The keyboard used is the Gravity36, released by Greenkeys.
The key profile is Cherry, so it can be used as an accent key for a wide range of keycap sets.
This luster and golden gleam is just gorgeous itself.
It is an enchanting keycap to look at.
I want all the colors…!
summary
This is a review of the Cerakey Lacquered Ceramic Keycap Set.
Well…to be honest, I did not expect the actual product to be as beautiful as it is.
In the photo used in the crowdfunding, I had no idea that the gold was so shiny… I can’t shake the feeling of happiness that I got it and regret that I should have bought something else.
I should have bought the one with the shell inlay.
I have a feeling that this product is probably a “very” limited edition and will not be available in the general lineup.
The crowdfunding on indiegogo had a little over 200 backers, but I think it would have sold better with actual photos.
If you are going to conduct a crowdfunding campaign in Japan, sell the F-sets as “Artisan Key Caps”, I am sure there will be many people who will buy them. You must want this!
I’m going to go tell the Cerakey rep for a minute.
I will let you know if there is any further information.
