On November 5, 2026, Keychron introduced the 4-key compact controller “F4 HE 8K Vibe Coding Keypad” on its official X account.
It is priced at $34.99 on Keychron’s global store.
The device features magnetic switches and a wired 8,000Hz polling rate, and lets users assign routine tasks such as AI-assisted coding to keys at their fingertips.

Put AI interactions on 4 physical keys
Keychron suggests assigning recurring AI interactions—such as sending prompts, starting voice input, and approving or rejecting changes—to physical keys.
Keychron says its Launcher offers presets for Codex and Claude and lets users set up custom keymaps and macros.
However, the device has no built-in microphone.
Voice input requires a built-in or external PC microphone, as well as support from the software being used.
Beyond AI tasks, it is also intended as a compact keypad for grouping frequently used shortcuts, such as copy and paste, muting during meetings, and in-game controls.

It appears to have onboard memory for saving settings to the device.
It also supports per-key RGB backlighting.
Keychron also lists Dynamic Keystrokes (DKS), which assigns multiple actions to a single key based on factors such as how far it is pressed.
KawamuraMechanical switches might have worked well too, but there may be a reason Keychron chose magnetic switches.
Greenkeys has also covered a compact device still in the concept stage
In August, Greenkeys covered a mouse-like compact device with HE switches that Keychron had revealed, along with its call for feedback on several proposed shapes.
At the time, it was a concept for a mouse-like device. The F4 HE 8K, by contrast, is presented as a 4-key programmable input device, with its intended use and specifications clearly laid out.

KawamuraThe mouse-like device was on display at the Orca echo preview event held by Media Gene on August 30, 2026.
However, since the mouse functionality was dropped for the production model, it seems possible that Keychron judged a separate device to be more efficient for mouse use.
One notable aspect of this product is its proposal to use a small input device as a control interface not only for gaming but also for AI-assisted work.
Check Launcher’s planned official release and shipping information
The version of Keychron Launcher featured on the product page is a beta version, with its official release scheduled for November 9, 2026, according to the announcement.
At the time of checking, both black and white were listed, but order availability and shipping information should be checked for each color. The page also says it will ship after restocking, so it may not be available for immediate delivery.
