On April 18, 2024, NuPhy, a keyboard brand based in Shenzhen, responded to our interview, indicating that NuPhy products currently distributed in Japan are the same as those sold on its official website.
This means that the modules related to wireless connectivity are the same whether purchased from the official website or not.
It is a well-known fact that most people are aware of the need to obtain a Technical Regulations Compliance Certificate (commonly known as technical compliance) for wireless connectivity in Japan.
As for smartphones and other devices, since the frequency bands that can be used for communication are customized to be different in each country, there is rarely a common wireless connection module, and it is necessary to obtain technical certification for each customized model in each country.
On the other hand, for products such as keyboards, there is (probably) no (or little) need to change the wireless module depending on the country, so I have the impression that as long as the wireless module is basically “the same as the one that has obtained the technical certification in Japan,” there is no problem in recognizing that it is the same regardless of where the product is purchased. I am sure I am not the only one who receives this impression.
KawamuraOne is certified and has the sticker on it in a peelable condition, the other has a picture of the sticker…both are the same product…the only difference now is “whether or not the sticker is on the product”. The only difference is whether or not the sticker is attached. If you are unsure, buy the domestic version.
Note added on April 22, 2024: We again asked NuPhy if there is any possibility of attaching a technical certification mark sticker to NuPhy in the future, and received the following response.
We will add the “Technical Qualification Certification Mark” on the nameplate of the keyboard in the future
If it is printed, it does not matter where you buy it anymore.

- Technical Regulations Conformity Certification (Article 38-7, Paragraph 1 of the Radio Law): When a registered certification body certifies technical standards conformity in accordance with Article 38-2-2, Paragraph 1 of the Radio Law, the said registered certification body must affix a technical conformity mark to the specified radio equipment. 1 (Article 38-7, Paragraph 1 of the Radio Law)
- Construction Design Certification (Article 38-26 of the Radio Law): When a registered certification body has issued a construction design certification in accordance with Article 38-24, Paragraph 1 of the Radio Law, and when the person who has received said certification (the person handling the certification) has fulfilled the obligation to conform to the construction design in accordance with Article 38-25 of the Radio Law, the person handling the certification may affix a Technical Qualification Mark to the specified radio equipment. When the person who has received the certification (the certifying agent) fulfills the obligation to conform to the construction design in accordance with Article 38-25 of the Radio Law, the certifying agent can affix the GE Mark to the specified radio equipment. 1 The following is a list of the certification bodies that have received the GITEKI Mark.
