On October 7, 2026, Mode Designs announced on its official Discord channel that its custom keyboards, the “Sonnet” and “Encore,” were back in stock.

The items we’ve just received are color variations from the Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

This item is in stock, and we are informed that it can be shipped within 10 business days of the order being placed.

This is an opportunity to purchase Mode Designs’ current models with a relatively short lead time, rather than through pre-orders.

Neither product is a finished product; they are keyboard kits that users assemble themselves.

The basic kit includes a case, PCB, daughter board, mounting system, assembly tools, and more; however, key switches, keycaps, and stabilizers are not included as standard.

You can also add Mode Designs key switches, keycaps, and stabilizers from the order screen.

The Encore lineup features five colors

Encore is a custom keyboard with a 65% layout and dedicated arrow keys.

The 2026 model features an aluminum case combined with natural woods such as walnut, maple, and white oak.

There are five Spring/Summer 2026 colors to choose from.

This mechanism combines wave springs, silicone dampers, bushings, and other components to secure the plate and PCB to the case at eight points.

The design is engineered to maintain stability while minimizing the transmission of vibrations to the case.

The PCB offers a choice between hot-swap and soldered connections and is compatible with QMK and VIA. It connects via a wired USB Type-C connection.

Some items, such as plates, are sold out.

Although the main unit is now available for purchase from stock, you cannot freely choose all configurations.

As of October 7, 2026, the POM, aluminum, and copper plates for the Sonnet are sold out, and the carbon fiber plate is available for selection on the order page.

At Encore, the copper plates are sold out, but you can still choose from POM, carbon fiber, and aluminum.

In addition, some optional parts, such as key switches, may be out of stock. Since inventory levels fluctuate, please check the builder screen to see if your desired configuration is available before placing an order.

Switching to stock sales where customers can purchase items without waiting for a reservation

In March 2026, Greenkeys featured the announcement of the 2026 models of the Sonnet and Encore.

At that time, new colors, internal designs, and keycaps had just been announced, but with this restock, the Spring/Summer 2026 colors are now available for purchase from our inventory.

In particular, the fact that it explicitly states that items will be shipped within 10 business days is a major change.

With custom keyboards, it’s not uncommon to have to wait several months from order to shipment.

Although there are some stock limitations on certain parts this time, if the configuration you want is available, you should be able to get it relatively quickly.
