On January 14, 2025, FKCustom announced on discord that it is now possible to create custom keycaps using the new “SLK profile”.
The SLK profile is a proprietary profile released by FKCustom and has the following features
- Ultra low profile MX compatible profile, 18% lower than DSA
- It is MX compatible and has a long skirt that hides the keyswitch.
- Made of PBT material at least 1.5 mm thick
- Spherical shape with a circular depression in the center
In Japan, many people may know it from SLK Dessau’s GB.
I am so glad to see this kit released by FKCaps as I personally missed out on buying it.

Try the actual SLK Profile order screen
Let’s take a quick look at the order screen.
I see the note says “It’s not shine-through, so the LEDs won’t be transparent.
On the next page you will see a blank space, so select “Create my own layout”.
The default layout does not seem to be selectable, so select “Customize this layout” to create your own layout of your choice.
Created layout for Gravity 36.
It is created by dragging from the window on the left.
What is surprising is the choice of convex keys and ISO enter.
You can make a Japanese layout if you can meditate on the length of the space bar.
Then select the language.
Here, QWERTY is chosen.
Maybe the alphabet would appear here in a normal layout.
Legends and icons for each key will be included.
I made it look like this.
The total cost was $41.80.
I would be satisfied with this price for a custom keycap.
It is also very conscientious in the number of keys and leanness.
(BTW, I added a 1u convex)
If you have an account, you can save it and edit it later.
summary
This is all I have to say about the SLK profile joining FKcaps.
This is a very good option for those who want to low-profile regular MX switches with keycaps.
Please give it a try!
