Uses raw aluminum with no anodizing

kc_orange_60 is a custom keyboard inspired by the “orange map” seen in 2000s PC games.
The standard model came in two colors—orange and gray—but this RAW Edition uses raw aluminum for both the case and the plate.

Instead of being evened out with a surface finish, it’s designed to showcase aluminum’s natural color and the traces of CNC machining as part of the look.
Inside the case, the map that inspired it is engraved as a hidden detail.

Includes a dedicated wrist rest and carrying case
The RAW Edition comes standard with a wrist rest in the same aluminum finish.
It looks less like an add-on and more like it’s integrated with the case.
According to the official page, what’s included is as follows:
- topcase
- Bottom Case
- Wrist rest
- RAW aluminum plate
- form
- PCB
- daughter board
- JST Cable
- Carrying case
- O-ring
Switches, stabilizers, and keycaps are not listed as included items.
Also note that this is a keyboard kit intended for assembly, not a fully built product.
Machining marks and oxidation are part of the spec
The biggest thing to watch out for when buying the RAW Edition is unit-to-unit variation in appearance.
Keycapsule has published its own acceptance criteria, explaining that the following conditions are not considered defects:
- Circular machining marks from CNC processing
- Fine scratches from handling or polishing
- Tool marks remaining on edges or chamfered areas
- Uneven surface patterns inside the case
- Light oxidation over time
- Minor damage to the outer box or carrying case from shipping
Because the surface is not anodized, oxidation marks may appear over time.
According to Keycapsule, these marks may be reduced in some cases with isopropyl alcohol.
This definitely feels “for enthusiasts,” as you’d expect.

Summary
That’s everything on the kc_orange_60 “RAW Edition.”
Unlike a uniformly finished anodized look, a raw aluminum case is the kind of “true enthusiast” keyboard case where you enjoy the machining marks and aging itself.
Pairing the light-reflecting silver case with the orange-forward kc_orange keycaps lets you create a far more industrial look than the standard model, which will likely be the biggest difference versus the original.
Limited to 5 units.
There may still be a chance.
