Akko is famous for releasing low-priced, high-quality keyboards.
The new keyboard is the ACR TOP 40, the company’s first 40% layout keyboard.
KawamuraI researched the release date, but apparently the official account was frozen during the recent account ban fest, so I couldn’t find out…
Let’s take a look at an overview.

The ACR TOP 40 is a mechanical keyboard with a 40% layout with 12 top rows.
The 40% supports the required keymap changes, which is a rarity for Akko.
This is the second one following the 5075S VIA released one year before this one.
It is an amazing value for money, coming in at under $ 90.00 with hot-swap support, full LEDs with underglow, and a sound absorption mechanism.

The IXPE plate foam under the top plate, switch pad, and silicone case foam across the board, and other specifications have not been overlooked for keystroke sound.
Its ultra-compact size of 256 mm (W) x 110 mm (H) x only 400 g (D) makes it suitable for portable use.
Summary|May be the best recommendation for a commercial 40% keyboard.
This is all we have to tell you about Akko’s new keyboard.
Since the 40% keyboard is a fairly niche genre, these commercial products are few and far between.
However, we can see the efforts of mass-production manufacturers to achieve 40% citizenship, as evidenced by the recent release of the Keychron Q9 Plus in June 2023, upgraded with a split space bar.
KawamuraPersonally, I think “minimalist and cute!” I expect that 40% keyboards will be the focus of attention in the second half of this year and next year with the trend of “minimal and cute! I predict that 40% keyboards will be the focus of attention from the second half of this year through next year.
However, it is also true that it takes quite some time to get to 40% layout.
I would love to see you take on that challenge!
