We have received a number of reports from users of the recently released Lofree Flow Lite web-based keymap change application that it is no longer usable.
The content is “firmware update fails and paperweight”.
KawamuraThere have been a few reports in the discord community, but I feel like this is just the tip of the iceberg.
I had the same paperweight problem as well.
My situation was that I accessed the web version of the keymap change application with FlowLite connected, and when I pressed the “x” button in the image below to skip it, it became unusable.
In addition to this, other reports on the discord are that when the firmware update button was pressed, the update failed and the system became unusable.
Considering the situation, we assume that the firmware update failed and the product became unusable, as indicated in the above alert wording.
Currently, this site and Lofree Japan have reported the situation to Lofree and are asking for an immediate response.
We have received a report that the update will terminate normally if you proceed with the update without skipping, but please refrain from using the web app for Flow Lite at this time.

For those who have become paperweight, re-installing the firmware may improve the situation, but we are not distributing a local program to update the firmware at this time.
As for Lofree Japan (Sanyo Godo Kaisha), I have the impression that it is only a “sales agent” and that we have to wait for Lofree’s head office to respond to support requests.
Especially with regard to macOSX users, it is possible that it will be very late before measures are taken to deal with paperweight, so it is advisable to refrain from using the web application at this time.
