On May 3, 2026, Atelier Magnus posted on its official X account showing its keyboard, the “Slate Zero,” being showcased in Japan.
The post includes what appears to be a photo taken in Shinjuku, with the Slate Zero in the shot.
Slate Zero is a compact keyboard from Atelier Magnus.
It uses a 60% HHKB-based layout with an aluminum CNC-machined case, and beyond its great design, Greenkeys is watching it closely as a product with very strong latent demand in Japan for the idea of “being able to use an HHKB in an aluminum case.”

This post isn’t announcing domestic sales or the start of a group buy.
At this time, we haven’t been able to confirm any officially announced information about plans to sell in Japan or specific rollout details, and for Japan-bound sales, the Malaysia official site is currently being referenced.
While this post doesn’t necessarily mean a domestic release is coming, it’s an interesting move to see an overseas keyboard brand showcasing its products here in Japan.
We’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for future official announcements regarding the Slate Zero.
It looks like they also held an exhibition for the slate75 in Shinjuku last year.
It’s quite rare to find a brand that has connections with Japan in such different contexts.
Let’s look forward to further updates.
